It was like the scene from the movie, Magnolia, when the frogs came thumping down from the sky only it was hail from a super cell. It seemed a giant bag of ice was being emptied continuously from the sky for 5 minutes over my neighborhood! The sound in my house was deafening with 4 window air conditioners being pelted.
Chicago will be in a shade deficit the rest of the summer. It's like after the blizzard but instead of people shoveling piles of snow this morning, it was beautiful green leaves....surreal.
The streets and sidewalks of my neighborhood were covered, actually quite beautiful.

Wow! That shot of the lightning bolt is AMAZING. But seriously, storms are pretty scary as they can do a lot of damage to homes. It's a bit eerie to see the aftermath. So much damage, yet oddly peaceful looking at the same time. Well, whatever it may be, it's best to prepare yourself and your house for the possibility of storms.
